North Bethesda, MD (June 30, 2008)—JBS International, Inc. (JBS), is pleased to announce its acquisition of The Stellar Corporation of Vienna, VA. Stellar, founded in 1994, is a health information technology (IT) firm that will be a division of JBS. The firm provides services to biotech, pharmaceutical, and regulatory clients. Stellar’s work with the National Institutes of Health, the Food and Drug Administration, and commercial clients includes development and harmonization of health data standards and support to initiatives for the streamlined reporting, analyzing, and communicating of adverse events related to clinical research and post-marketing safety surveillance.

“Stellar’s health IT work and their clients complement the work that JBS does in developing custom systems for government, particularly in health and human services, and particularly with the National Institutes of Health, with the analyses of adverse health events, and in the development of personal health records systems,” noted Gail Bassin, Co-CEO of JBS. “We’re excited about expanding our corporate capabilities into the biotech and biopharmaceutical fields.”

The acquisition will further expand JBS’s presence in the health IT consulting sector. JBS also has offices in Burlingame, CA, and Olympia, WA—both manage many IT contracts. “This work will help broaden our IT talent, systems, and applications platforms—allowing us to offer even more state-of-the-art support to States and the Federal Government,” said Jerri Shaw, Co-CEO of JBS.
